AQUEOUS USA 2020
AN UNPRECEDENTED VIRTUAL EXHIBIT AND CELEBREATION ADAPTED TO THE CHALLENGING TIMES OF 2020
Celebrating 43 years of awarding the talents of national artists
DIRECTORS’ STATEMENT
Wow, what a year! The Kentucky Watercolor Society, like so many other organizations, has struggled. Aqueous USA 2020, our 43rd annual national exhibit is as strong, beautiful, and creative as ever. This is a virtual show due to COVID-19, and artists from across the country have participated.
We are pleased to have Anne Abgott as our juror. Anne is an award-winning artist and enthusiastic teacher. She shared her knowledge and expertise with us during her workshop in September. We appreciate her selection of paintings that make up this year’s extraordinary exhibit, as well as her evaluation of the award-winning paintings.
The Kentucky Watercolor Society would like to express our appreciation to our many sponsors, members, and the Aqueous committee. To all, thank you, for your time, work, and dedication.
To all the artists who participated, we thank you and wish you all the best. Keep up the magnificent work.
Stay safe,
Peggy Charmoli and Connie Tucker
Co-Directors, Aqueous USA 2021
JUROR’S STATEMENT
It is a great honor to judge the 2020 Kentucky Watercolor Show. Congratulations to all those who submitted paintings to this show and were accepted. It was a privilege to review each piece and witness how each artist challenged themselves. The quality of all the work was very high, and I took into account composition and unique presentation along with a high skill level. So if you used a strong personal vision and a unique viewpoint I was very impressed.
I feel this exhibition will surprise you with the versatility and the quality of the artists and their paintings. Congratulations to you all and thank you to the committee for their support.
