JUROR’S STATEMENT

KWS stands as one of the most prestigious watercolor societies in the nation, a well deserved reputation that you have held for many years. I want thank KWS for the opportunity to jury this exhibition and share in this celebration watercolor.

Selecting works for this show was a challenging task because of the overall high quality and diversity of all the works submitted. It was a pleasure to see that the work ranged from traditional watercolor technique and subject to experimental method and enigmatic expression. Each artists can find their place in this spectrum of achievement.

Award winning works represent the wide range of watercolor today. From traditional narrative subjects to pure abstraction. From the virtuoso watercolor wash to the high saturation of pure pigment. From large format studio pieces to smaller Plein Air works. Each work represents an excellence in watercolor to we which all strive.
